Looks like libstdc++ is going to replace ryu with teju jagua which is an improvement but not a dramatic one. You could do so much better and I wish I had cycles to submit zmij patches to them.

@DanielaKEngert No because last time I tried teju it was not in a usable state. There are results from Rust ports here: https://github.com/dtolnay/dtoa-benchmark#results. Algorithmically teju is not that different from Schubfach and requires 2-3 wide multiplications while zmij/yy only require 1 so they are not even in the same class.
